In 2003, the Giant Screen Theater Association (GSTA) an international association of Giant Screen Theatres with an educational focus, honoured Science North with the award for Best Film in the category for Lifelong Learning for our production of Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees. The Best Film for Lifelong Learning award is presented to a giant screen film that “must convey useful information and/or dispel misconceptions, encourage reflective thinking, extend viewer interest in the topic and aspire to be meaningful to multinational audiences and languages.” The film was also nominated Best Film Overall two years in a row.
In recognition of outstanding efforts and achievements, Science North was also honoured by the GSTA by receiving the award for Best Film Launch by a Theatre for Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees
