| Bush planes have flown the Northern Ontario sky for nearly 75 years. They were, and remain, instrumental in the development of Northern Ontario. Now, the history and significance of the bush plane and its role in developing Northern Ontario is being celebrated with the development of two unique and inspiring theatre presentations produced by Science North, Sudbury: one at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre (CBHC) in Sault Ste Marie and one at Science North. These multimedia experiences introduce tourists and Northern Ontario residents to the fascinating story of the Beaver bush plane, a technological innovation, and an integral part of the history of the North.
Wings Over the North has audiences sitting on the edge of their seat. They experience the exhilaration of take off in a vintage Beaver bush plane, the freedom of flight, the history of fighting fires from the sky, and the unexpected drama of setting “her” down. Using 4D and the Object Theatre format that Science North pioneered, Wings Over the North is an ‘uplifting’ experience like no other! |
